almi (“almi”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website almi.life and related services (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Service. By using almi, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
almi is operated from Singapore, and we handle personal data in accordance with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and, where applicable, other data protection laws.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: when you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile image, whether you sign up using email or through Google.
- Health and wellness preferences: goals, concerns, and preferences you share to receive personalized recommendations.
- Content you submit: links, product references, or other information you provide when using features such as our link analysis tool.
Information from connected services
- If you choose to connect a wearable device or third-party service (such as WHOOP or Oura), we collect the health and activity data you authorize us to access, which may include recovery or readiness, sleep and sleep stages, activity, workout, heart rate, daytime stress, blood oxygen, and related metrics, as well as basic profile and body measurement information. We only access the data covered by the permissions you grant, and you can disconnect at any time, which stops further access and removes the associated stored data.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: how you interact with the Service, including pages viewed, features used, and general activity.
- Device and technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, and similar technical information.
- Cookies and similar technologies: as described in Section 6.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- Personalize your experience and generate recommendations relevant to your goals and activity;
- Analyze content you submit (such as links) to identify and assess products and services;
- Communicate with you, including sending sign-in links and service-related messages;
- Improve, develop, and secure the Service;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. How We Share Your Information
We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: with trusted third parties who help us operate the Service (such as hosting, database, email delivery, and analytics providers), who are permitted to use your data only to perform services for us.
- Connected services: with services you explicitly choose to connect, to the extent needed to provide the integration.
- Legal and safety reasons: where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of almi, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
almi is a comparison and information service. We are not a retailer and do not sell products directly. When you choose to purchase a product through a link on the Service, you leave almi and transact with the relevant third-party retailer, whose own privacy practices apply. We may receive a commission on qualifying purchases; this never influences our rankings or assessments.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter only as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8).
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption of sensitive credentials, secure authentication, and restricted access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some cookies may affect functionality.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with and links to third-party services, including Google (for authentication), WHOOP and Oura (for optional wearable data), and third-party retailers. These services are governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request deletion of your data;
- Withdraw consent for data processing, including disconnecting connected services;
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. Under the PDPA, you may also withdraw consent to the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal data at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and where changes are significant, we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
